You are invited to register for our 2019 Faculty Retreat experience.
What: SPU Faculty Retreat
Where: Camp Casey Conference Center – Whidbey Island
Date: September 9-10, 2019
Who: SPU Faculty
Theme: Flourishing in our Faith for the Nurturing of our Students
One Definition of Retreat: “a period of seclusion for the purposes of prayer and meditation”
Description: This year, we hope that the Faculty Retreat will be a spiritual retreat where we, as faculty, can let go of our regular routines for 30 hours, to enjoy time with God and with one another. The purpose is to deepen our faith as a way to prepare for the academic year and the return of students. Our hope is that through worship, plenary sessions, breakout sessions, meals, and free time, we will be drawn into a soul-refreshing time of receiving God’s love and enjoying fellowship with one another.
Accommodations: If you need special/specific accommodations to make the overnight at Camp Casey work for you, please let us know that as you sign up. We will do our best to accommodate all requests using the faculty houses, staff houses, and various spaces at Camp Casey.
If you are okay to sleep in the barracks, thank you! This is one way to love your colleagues by choosing to give them the slightly nicer spaces.
If your home responsibilities make it impossible for you to stay overnight, please do what you need to do - you will be missed! If it’s possible to come back in the morning, please return for the sake of your colleagues.
Meals: We are trying to reduce the amount of wasted food at Camp Casey. Please do not sign up for a meal unless you are certain that you will eat that meal at Camp Casey. Thank you!
