#spubound Photo Contest for the 2017 Incoming Class

Get to know your SPU classmates on social media! Beginning June 12, we’ll launch a new theme each week throughout the summer. Share your photos on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and later vote to help choose the winners!

June 12–25

Every year, we graduating seniors tag us in photos of SPU-themed grad caps, and they're so fun to see. Show us your creative, colorful, unique, or inspiring graduation cap designs.

June 26–July 10

Introduce your new classmates to your hometown or homestate. Show off your favorite places, sports teams ... everything that makes it an awesome place to live.

July 11–24

Who has the best pet of SPU’s incoming class of 2017? That’s up to you.

July 25–August 8

We’re looking for the best, most unique, or just plain weird summer jobs out there.

August 9–23

Show off your SPU pride ... the more creative and fun, the better!

August 24–September 7

Taking a family vacation, heading out on a cross-country road trip ... how are you spending your summer?

September 8–19

You’re packing up and getting ready to move. What’s one thing you can’t leave home without?

How to participate

You can enter on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, but make sure to hashtag the week’s theme and #spubound to qualify, or send us your entry directly on Snapchat. After each round, we’ll collect our favorite photos, and then it’s up to you to vote for the winner. After a week, the photo with the most votes wins a $50 Amazon gift card.

After a week of voting, we’ll announce which photo received the most votes. The winner of each round will receive their $50 Amazon gift card at SPU Orientation.

How to vote

After each round has finished, we’ll publish an article showing the best photos from that category, with a poll for you to vote for your favorite. If your photo is in the running, share it with your friends and family. Polls will close after one week.

Judging criteria

As you vote for your favorite photos each round, consider:

  • How well does this photo fit the theme?
  • Is this photo good looking?
  • Does the caption add to the total viewing experience?
