Outside Scholarships

Below you’ll find many of the scholarships available to SPU students from outside agencies and organizations. You can browse through all of them, or search using specific keywords.

These scholarships include:

24/7 Locksmith Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who are currently enrolled in college, university or high school. Students who are majoring in Technology & Engineering, Electronics, IT or Computer science are encouraged to apply.

AfterCollege AACN Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program.

Air Force Health Professions Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: US citizens who have been accepted to a graduate program in a health profession.

American Indian Endowed Scholarship

  • Amount: $500-$2,000 Renewable up to five years.
  • Available to: 15 students with financial need that have close social and cultural ties to an American Indian tribe or community in the state of Washington and intend to use his/her education to benefit the American Indian Community in state. Must be enrolled full-time by fall term 2018. Must demonstrate financial need. Must be a Washington State resident.

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500-$20,000
  • Available to: Students of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity who are US citizens or eligible non-citizens. Students must be enrolling as an undergraduate in a college or university in the Fall of 2018 with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or earned a GED. Strong consideration for students who live at or below the poverty level and are the first to attend college in their family.

Atlanta Car Accident Lawyers 2018 Community Service Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Incoming first-year college students and undergraduate and graduate students. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and community service experience.

Avant-Garde Moving Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students pursuing a career in business, logistics, hospitality, HR, marketing or related field. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Deadline: January 01, 2018; Only the first 10,000 applications will be considered.

B.Davis Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.
  • Deadline: May 22, 2018
  • Instructions: Submit an essay of less than 1000 words: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.

Bellhops Moving Forward Scholarship

  • Amount: $3,000
  • Available to: Students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited undergraduate college or university in 2017. Must be a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Deadline: September 15, 2018
  • Instructions: Submit a 1000-1250 word essay that explains the importance of your major in today’s society. See website for details.

Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.

BusinessBroker Scholarship for the Business Leaders of Tomorrow

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Available to: Current college freshmen, sophomore, and juniors in the US. Must be ages 17-24.

Cancer Horizons College Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students who have been diagnosed with cancer (any type). GPA must be at least 3.0.

Canyon Institute Arizona Resident College Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500 Renewable for up to 4 years if student maintains eligibility criteria.
  • Available to: Arizona residents and graduates of Arizona high schools who are attending Seattle Pacific University.

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate students and graduating high school students who are college bound.

  • Available to: Any current college student of an accredited U.S. college or university with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: Students who are enrolled members of a US-Federally Recognized Tribe.

College JumpStart Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school 10th-12th graders planning to attend college or university and undergraduate college students. Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident.

Commaful Annual National Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: 3 students who are enrolled at a college or university or graduate school program. Must be U.S. or permanent citizens.

Community Foundation of Southwest WA Scholarships

  • Amount: $1,000-$5,000
  • Available to: Graduating high school students and undergraduates from Clark County, WA.

Continued Learning Scholarhsip

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who are enrolled at a college or university.
  • Deadline: March 01, 2018

Cottage Inn Scholarship

  • Amount: 1st place: $2,500; 2nd place: $1,000; 3rd place: $500
  • Available to: 3 students who are accepted into an accredited college or university. Cumulative GPA must be at least 3.0. Must be a U.S. resident.
  • Deadline: May 31, 2018
  • Instructions: Submit essay on how you would benefit your community if you were the owner of a Cottage Inn franchise.

Crotty Saland Equal Justice Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students, high school graduates whose college-level studies are just about to begin and GED holders. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Deadline: January 31, 2018
  • Instructions: Submit a 750-word original essay that explains how the student intends to champion the cause of equal access to justice for all, with a specific focus on low-income and underrepresented individuals.

CustodyxChange Single Parent Scholarship

  • Amount: $500-$1,000
  • Available to: Full time enrolled students who have primary physical custody of one or more minor children. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher or be a first year student.
  • Deadline: Annual deadlines.

Davidson Fellows Scholarship

  • Amount: $10,000- $50,000
  • Available to: Students age 18 or younger as of Oct. 1, 2018. Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Dealhack Community Volunteer Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: Students who are enrolled full-time at a college or university in the US or Canada for the 2018-2019 academic year. Must be in good academic standing and exemplify outstanding community volunteer involvement.
  • Deadline: June 30, 2018

Design Your Future Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students of underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to applicants pursuing design and engineering-related fields. Minimum GPA must be 2.0.
  • Deadline: January 01, 2018; Next deadline is on June 30th, 2018.
  • Instructions: Submit a 500 word essay designing their ideal future and what the student plans to do in order to achieve that dream. See website for details.

Dream Home Design Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Available to: Full-time students over the age of 18 enrolled in an accredited US college or university.
  • Deadline: August 15, 2018; Annually

ElectricityMatch Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school seniors or full time enrolled current college students. Must be U.S. citizens or Eligible non-citizens. Cumulative GPA must be at least 2.75.

EtailPro Entrepreneur Scholarship

  • Available to: Full time or part time students during the 2018-19 academic year.

Financial Freedom Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university.

Floyd Hunter Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate students who are attending an accredited college or university anywhere in the United States
  • Deadline: May 15, 2018

Ford Foundation Fellowships

  • Amount: One year stipends ranging from $25,000 to $45,000.
  • Available to: Predoctoral, dissertation, and postdoctoral fellows committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level. Must be US citizens or eligible non-citizen.
  • Deadline: Varies depending on the type of fellowship.

Foster Care to Success Scholarships

  • Amount: $2,500–$5,000 Renewable up to five years if the student remains compliant with program requirements.
  • Available to: Undergraduate students under age 25 who have been in foster care.

Franchise Opportunities Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Available to: Current college freshmen, sophomore, or junior between ages 17-24.
  • Deadline: July 31, 2018

Frank Cazmierczak Memorial Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Migrant workers or children of migrant workers wanting to pursue a teaching career.

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in technology.
  • Deadline: June 01, 2018

Glen Lerner Gives Back Community Service Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduates and graduate students and high school graduates or GED holders who plan on enrolling in college. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Global Teletherapy Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the 2018-2019 academic year. Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Gloria Barron Scholarship

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to: 18 students younger than age 19 who are currently working on an inspiring service project or have worked on one in the last year.

Hamilton, Hull & Byrd Giving Back Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: This scholarship is offered to any student currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States. Students who are incoming first-year college students who are high school graduates or possess a GED can also apply.

Heart Disease Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students diagnosed with heart disease or a congenital heart defect. Must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

  • Amount: $500-$5,000
  • Available to: High school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students of Hispanic heritage who are planning to or enrolled full-time in the Fall. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for high school students and 2.5 for college and graduate students. Must be US citizen, permanent legal resident, DACA or eligible non-citizen (as defined by FAFSA). Emphasis on STEM majors.

Interior Design & Architecture Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students majoring in a design-related field (examples: architecture, interior design, landscape design/architecture, furniture making, industrial design, engineering, etc.). Cumulative GPA must be at least 3.0.
  • Deadline: January 01, 2018; Second deadline on June 30th, 2018.
  • Instructions: Submit a 500 word essay describing their career goals and future design aspirations and 2 portfolio designs.

Rising Stars: Interior Design & Architecture Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students majoring in a design-related field (ex: architecture, interior design, landscape design/architecture, furniture making, industrial design, engineering, etc.) and demonstrate an interest in pursuing a design-related career.
  • Deadline: January 01, 2018; Next deadline is June 30th, 2018.

Jeffrey Lichtman Criminal Justice Reform Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school graduating seniors and college students who are passionate about criminal justice reform. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Key Thinkers Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,500
  • Available to: Students who are 18 years or older, a US citizen or Permanent Resident, enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university, or trade school, and cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Deadline: Fall quarter: September 30th, Winter quarter: December 31st, Spring quarter: March 31st, Summer quarter: June 30th.

King County Nurses Organization (KCNA) Scholarship

  • Amount: $3,000
  • Available to: Students accepted into or currently enrolled in a nursing program for the Summer 2018 to Spring 2019 school year with a minimum 3.0 GPA and live or pursuing a nursing program in King County.

Leadership 1000 Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500-$5,000
  • Available to: Washington state residents who plan to enroll full time as a college freshman, sophomore or junior in fall 2018. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and plan to file or have already filed a FAFSA. Must demonstrate financial need.

Lemberg Law “American Dream” Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,250
  • Available to: Full time enrolled undergraduate students and high school seniors who are interested in law and who are immigrants to the US. Students who are US citizens, DACA recipients, or legal permanent residents.

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Two high school senior or full-time college students with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Lighthouse Technologies’ Technology Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students currently attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university during the fall of 2018. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students currently enrolled full-time in a business, marking, or design program at a college or university and is a small business owner.

Mary Monroe Davis Scholarship

  • Amount: Up to $7,500 based on financial need, academic achievement, and leadership.

MedSchoolCoach Scholarship Program

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate, graduate and incoming medical students with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Meldon Law College Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who are currently enrolled in or planning to attend an accredited United States college or university during the 2017-2018 academic year.

  • Instructions: Submit 500 word essay answering the question: What are alternative prevention methods states can take to reduce crashes and injuries among young drivers?

Microsoft Tuition Scholarship

  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to: Students with at least a 3.0 GPA with an interest in computer science, computer engineering, or a related STEM degree.

Military Scholarship Essay Contest for Military Personnel, Veterans, and Spouses

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Applicants must be military active duty, honorably discharged, veteran, or a spouse from any branch of the military.

MoHundred Scholarship

  • Amount: $10,000
  • Available to: 10 African-American high school seniors or college freshmen or sophomores who will be full-time enrolled each quarter. Must be a Washington state resident and complete the FAFSA or WASFA application. Must have a high school or college GPA of at least 2.50.

Much Games Research Grant

  • Amount: $1,500 Spring and Fall
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Deadline: March 30, 2018
  • Instructions: Submit a 750-1,500 word research proposal outlining how your experiment or study will further the understanding of the biological, social and psychological consequences of video game addiction.

Munley Law Scholarship

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students 18 years or older. Must be a legal US resident.
  • Deadline: April 30, 2018

MyBioSource Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: 10 high school seniors, undergraduates, graduates as well as international students. 5 scholarships award for STEM majors and 5 for all other majors.

National Debt Relief Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: 5 graduating high school seniors, undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Office of Hawaiian Affairs Scholarships

  • Amount: Varies by program
  • Available to: Students of Hawaiian ancestry.

Open Listings "Take Big Risks" Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: High school seniors who will be attending an accredited university or college, undergraduate students, and graduate students.
  • Deadline: January 31, 2018; Fall application period is May 1, 2018

Outdoorsy Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who will be attending an accredited university or college in the next academic year. Undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible. International students are also invited to apply.

Pelican Water Systems Scholarship

  • Amount: $500–$1,500
  • Available to: Must be legal U.S. residents, must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university in the US, 3.5 cummulative GPA or higher.

Price Benowitz Social Justice Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: Student who are currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States. Incoming first-year college students who are high school graduates or possess a GED. Must have an interest in social justice and cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or above.
  • Deadline: April 30, 2018
  • Instructions: Submit 750-word essay responding to the following prompt: What are some significant challenges people with disabilities encounter on a regular basis? What are some practicable public policies that could address these challenges?

Pride Foundation LGBTQ Scholarship- 50 scholarships available

  • Amount: $2,500-$12,000
  • Available to: 100 high school seniors who are planning on attending college or university and undergraduate and graduate students. Must be Washington state resident.

Raw Spice Bar Community Volunteer Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Available to: Full-time enrolled college or university students who demonstrates outstanding volunteer involvement in their community.

Reedsy Creative Writing Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students who are US citizens or permanent residents with an interest in creative writing.

RentHop Apartment Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students in an eligible undergraduate program or a graduating high school senior, working towards a bachelors degree or associates degree.

Renton Community Foundation Scholarships

  • Available to: Students who are attending community college, state college, or university. There is no age restriction or minimum GPA requirement.

Reyna Injury Law Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000 Bi-annually
  • Available to: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or planning to attend an accredited United States college, university or law school during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Rotary Foundation Global Scholarship Grants for Development

  • Amount: Amount varies.

Sargent Injury Climate Justice Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: Students who demonstrate their commitment to environmental conservation and the various ways they have displayed that commitment in their daily lives.

Senior Living Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to: High school seniors and undergraduate or graduate students interested/working towards a degree related to senior care.
