2018–19 Vehicle and Parking Registration
The Office of Safety and Security is launching a new platform this year for vehicle registration and parking management. Additional information and instructions on how to register a vehicle or apply for a parking permit is explained below.

Accessing the Parking Portal
- Use this link: SPU NuPark to access the new parking portal and select the “Login” button on the left half of the screen.
- Vehicle registration must be completed for street parking as well as parking in campus parking lots.
- Complete the online application via the parking portal for a 2018-2019 Parking Permit.
All students and employees who bring a car to campus must register their vehicle with the Office of Safety and Security, regardless of whether the vehicle is parked on the street or in an SPU parking lot. SPU does not charge for vehicle registration, but SPU does charge for parking, and also issues fines for vehicles that are not registered. Vehicles must be registered within 10 business days of the start of a quarter (for students) or of the start of employment (for employees). If a student or employee wants to park on campus, they need to both register their vehicle and complete a parking application.
Faculty and Staff Parking
Faculty and staff who wish to purchase a parking permit will receive a permit that is designated “Fac/Staff.” With this permit, a vehicle may be parked in any of the commuter lots.
Residential and Non-Residential Student Parking
Non-residential and residential students can apply for a commuter permit, which is applicable in any of the commuter lots. Residential students can apply for an assigned parking space at their residence.
- Parking lots for Emerson Hall, Ashton Hall, Hill Hall, Arnett Hall, Moyer Hall and campus apartments are reserved for students living in the corresponding areas.
- Some parking lots have limited spaces.
- On-campus student residents who register their vehicle and receive a space will be assigned a numbered space for the academic year.
- Assignments to residence hall or apartment parking lots are based on:
- Date application is received
- Student's assigned residence
- Any special needs or concerns
- Students who do not receive an assigned space can apply for a permit to park in commuter lots or on the street.
- Non-residential students, faculty and staff are eligible for a discounted carpool permit.
- Two person carpools are assigned a reserved parking space and offered at a discounted rate.
- Carpools with three or more riders are eligible for a reserved parking space at no cost.
- To sign up for carpool, log into SPU NuPark and sign up with the other rider’s information and follow any other instructions online.
- Faculty and staff will also need to submit a Commute Trip Reduction form to Transportation Manager Heather Eide.
- For all carpools, participants will receive a permit valid only in their space.
