Resources for ...

You might be a current student who needs to decide on a major or find a job, or a prospective student who wants to find out about the resources we offer. Or maybe you’re an SPU alum who wants to find a job, change careers, or become a mentor; or a parent who’d like to mentor a student or help with an event. Perhaps you’re a professor advising a student or seeking a professional career counselor to speak in your class, or an employer seeking to hire a student. Whoever you are, we’ve got you covered.

Jacqui Smith-Bates

Why I Work at SPU

Jacqui Smith-Bates, EdD, Dean of Student Learning Support Services, Director, Center for Career and Calling

“I absolutely love working in higher education and the various roles I’ve had in helping students discover their vocation and calling. Calling is bigger than work, certainly, but work is a very important aspect of our lives, and I love helping students discover a work/vocational path that suits their interests, gifts, and sense of God’s calling in their lives. SPU is a special place that both challenges and supports students throughout their journey of learning and personal growth, and I love being a part of that mission!”
