Education: BA, International Business, University of Washington, 1986. At SPU since 2014.
Lori Brown grew up in Spokane, Washington, and later moved to Seattle to study business at the University of Washington. She has since served the majority of her 25-year career as a fundraiser in the nonprofit arena, working on large-scale special events, including the Goodwill Games, Bumbershoot, the Hawaii International Film Festival, and the Seattle International Film Festival. She also worked at World Vision, taking donors to visit international projects.
Lori joined Seattle Pacific University in autumn 2014 as employer relations manager when she realized it involved the same fundraising principle of strong relationship development. In fundraising she enjoyed matching donors with the best funding opportunities. Here at SPU, she enjoys matching students with employment opportunities. She finds it her mission to create avenues for students to build their professional networks, giving them an opportunity to see what is possible for their future. Her hope is to launch them on a career journey that fulfills their calling and impacts the world.
Over the past two years, Lori has led a high school girls’ volleyball club in order that those who couldn’t access the typical club circuit could have a team and build their skills. She also loves leading a Bible study group. Lori lives in Seattle with her husband and two children.
