As a Seminary student, you can choose from six Master of Arts (MA) degrees, a Master of Divinity (MDiv), and four Dual Degrees (MBA, MST) — as well as a Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies — all of which support SPU’s vision to engage the culture and change the world with the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.
Seminary News and Events Highlights
"Not all classrooms have four corners. SPU [seminary] students enrolled in the master of arts (MA) degree program or master of divinity (MDIV) degree program find themselves at Camp Casey attending a core requirement class, THEO 6001. Most years Doug Strong, dean and professor of the history of Christianity, teaches this five-day, retreat-based intensive course. This year however, the class was taught by Rick Steele, professor of moral and historical theology and associate dean, graduate studies. Together as a community, these students study and practice historic spiritual disciples as a grounding for their seminary experience and a lifetime of ministry."

The students at Seattle Pacific Seminary have now been organized into five "learning communities" ("LC"). This action is in response to the ATS Educational Standard, Section ES 1.1.2., which reads: "The number of students enrolled in any degree program, along with those who have shared investment in the educational goals of that degree program (i.e., those with regular and substantive interaction with the learnings) shall be sufficient to ensure a viable community of learning" (p. 2 of 18).
