Dr. Joel Jin completed his doctoral education in clinical psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary’s School of Psychology in Pasadena, CA and his pre-doctoral clinical internship at (APA-accredited) Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Grand Rapids, MI.
His current research scholarship is in the areas of types of perfectionists and implications of perfectionism among ethnic minority students and first-generation college students, mindfulness-based interventions, along with Asian and Asian American psychology. His research interests also include the psychological experience of Christian Asian American clergy and the lay. Related to clinical work, Dr. Jin has been interested in experiential dynamic therapies and the deliberate practice of both intrapsychic and relational clinical skills.
During his free time, Dr. Jin enjoys learning about film through video essays and watching basketball.
