Graduate Programs Administrative Assistant
Office: SHS 112
Education: BA, Seattle Pacific University, 2009. At SPU since 2010.
Katie Bennett has been a member of the SPU community since 2004, when she began her studies as an undergraduate Interior Design student. Throughout her college years she worked as a student employee in Student Academic Services, and by graduation she knew that she wanted to pursue a career at SPU. She has supported the Graduate Nursing Program since 2010, and every day she grows to enjoy her work even more.
As the administrative assistant to the Graduate Nursing program, Ms. Bennett is the “home base” for the students and alumni of the program. She works closely with the Graduate Nursing faculty to ensure that students are progressing through the program, and assists with all the administrative tasks that help the program run smoothly. Additionally, Ms. Bennett supervises student employees in the School of Health Sciences, which gives her the opportunity to mentor them as they grow and develop as young professionals.
Ms. Bennett and her husband are members of Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church in Greenwood. They are both leaders for Lutheran Youth of North Seattle and love living life alongside the sweet and zany youth they work with. Ms. Bennett’s love of crafts, cooking, and organization has earned her the lighthearted nickname “Martha Stewart.”
