Innovation Lab

Innovation lab

The spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation has found a home in the Innovation Lab, serving all SPU students, meeting quarterly in McKenna 123.

The purpose of the Innovation Lab (iLab) is to foster entrepreneurial and innovative thinking among SPU students across campus in order to address important social issues.

This year the Innovation Lab will host workshops to foster entrepreneurial and innovative solutions to address these important issues:

iLab logoEach workshop will begin at 5:30 PM in Demaray Hall 150 with an informal meet-and-greet where pizza and beverages will be served.  Following this will be presentations by subject matter experts on the particular issue to be covered, followed by a hands-on workshop on ideation, creation, and implementation of potential solutions to help address the issue.  Participants will also be given information about resources and other avenues for pursuing their proposed solutions.  The workshops will be open to all students across campus, as well as to the public.

People interested in learning more about the Innovation Lab and the workshops, or who would like to chat about entrepreneurial ideas for addressing social issues can contact Dr. John Godek at

How are you engaging homelessness?  Join with others and get connected!

The President’s Initiative on Engaging Homelessness at SPU exists to encourage students, staff, and faculty to work on ending homelessness in Seattle. We do this by raising awareness, advocating for just housing policies, collecting needed items, & hosting tent encampments at SPU every three years.

We want to meet you and learn about what you are doing—or what you want to do--to end homelessness. On Feb. 23, from 11:10-12:50, you will have the chance to share your stories of engagement, let us know how we can support your efforts, and connect with others who may be interested in volunteering with you.
